State of the Art & Integrated Ph.D Program

The program leading to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree requires approximately four to five years of training. The doctoral program provides:

  • Knowledge, insight and skills that students need to make profound contributions as independent scientists, as well as to achieve prominent roles in academia, government and industry
  • A learning environment that is nurturing, intellectually challenging and personally rewarding
  • An enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and diverse faculty, who have made significant contributions in their fields of expertise
  • Modern, state-of-the-art facilities that support a breadth of research interests and valuable hands-on experience
  • Selected students have the opportunity to enhance professional training through the Integrative Pharmacological Sciences Training Program

Educational Background

Since the fields of pharmacology and toxicology encompass a wide range of research problems drawing upon the concepts and tools of biological and physical sciences, students with a wide range of interests and backgrounds may enter the doctoral program. We offer an integrated approach to learning by offering a first year cross-disciplinary program: The BMS Gateway.
