Topic: “Drug Discovery and Development: Challenges and Opportunities"

Date: Wednesday, September 27th, 2017
Time: 12pm
Place: B448 Life Science Bldg
Attrition due to safety/toxicity remains a major challenge in drug discovery and development. Dr. Roberts will present lessons learned from >20 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry focusing on drug attrition and nonclinical to clinical concordance. New opportunities to take a different approach are offered by looking at the current state of the art in safety considerations in early chemical design including open innovation platforms. Also touching on animal replacements, repurposing and bioinformatics, the seminar will be of broad interest to academics, industry and government.
