The rise of vaping-associated adverse health effects is of concern. A general background, historical context, and emerging general knowledge will be provided on the different devices, use patterns, and chemical components of e-cigarette aerosols. Using a variety of different mechanistic in vitro and clinical in vivo experimental models, data will be presented demonstrating how e-cigarettes have unique effects on respiratory mucosal immune responses
