New Department Chair - Dr. Anne Dorrance
We are excited to announce that Dr. Anne Dorrance has been named Chair of Pharmacology and Toxicology.
Anne has most recently served as the Interim Chair of PHM/TOX and, during that time, demonstrated a clear vision for the Department going forward. Anne completed her B.Sc. in Pharmacology at the University of Edinburgh and a Ph.D. at the University of Glasgow Department of Medicine and Therapeutics. She conducted her post-doctoral research at the University of Michigan. From there, she went to the Medical College of Georgia, Department of Physiology, where she joined the faculty and gained tenure. In 2007, Anne moved to East Lansing and MSU. She served the Department as Ph.D, Program Director and Associate Chair for Education.
Anne plans to continue her collaborative research on vascular dementia and cognitive impairment as a Patenge Endowed faculty (designated by the College of Osteopathic Medicine). She plans to expand the size and scope of the PHM/TOX Department, form a “Faculty to Fellow” program to enhance the diversity of STEM faculty, and create novel post-baccalaureate programming.
