Section 730: Medical device biocompatibility and toxicology is a fast-growing sector in need of toxicology professionals. This class will outline the foundations of medical device biocompatibility and toxicology, including a review of the regulatory expectations and standards, endpoint assessment, and the data needed for toxicological risk assessment (TRA) to assess safety of medical devices. Course instructors and contributors are experts in the field from industry, contract research organizations, and regulatory agencies. Section 735: This one-credit special topics class will provide a background in radiation types, exposures, biophysics, effects, mitigation strategies, models, and public health concerns.
