Biography

I am Ph.D. in Biochemistry where I studied the role of AGES on fatty liver diseases. I have more than 2.5 years of postdoctoral experience. I joined my first postdoc in College of Pharmacy, University of Houston, where my research focused on the reno-protective role of Angiotensin 1-7 (ANG 1-7) against ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury via regulating the expression of NRF2, phase II antioxidants and microRNAs, and the effect of aging on renal function and blood pressure. I recently joined as a postdoctoral fellow (3 years) in Dr. Kyle Poulsen’s laboratory at the University of Texas Health, Houston, where I will focus on alcoholic liver diseases and inflammation. My principal areas of expertise are oxidative stress, pharmacology, inflammation, type 1 diabetes, hypertension, renal-cardiovascular research and liver diseases. . I am aware of all molecular biology and culture techniques. I am good in animal handling and performing survival and non-survival surgeries in rodents and rabbits.
